Today saw a group of us starting this season’s fruit tree planting as we continue our community scattered orchard project throughout Woodbridge and Melton. Trees have been kindly sourced and donated by Woodbridge Rotary. We planted two apple trees in Through Duncans and constructed the guards. We were told that muntjack deer have been seen in the area so wire netting will be following soon.

Some of our younger members also cleared some space to sow wildflower seeds in the spring, further adding to the biodiversity in the area.
We are grateful for the offer of local inhabitants to form a watering rota for the months when the trees are in leaf as young trees can be thirsty as they establish themselves.
