We enjoyed another successful repair cafe this morning. We go from strength to strength as our door to door leafletting around the area brings in new people.
This month, you have all been having a post Christmas clear out and thank goodness, you havent all assigned your old stuff to the bin! Old toys and decorations have been given a new lease of life.
This month we had our youngest customers yet, Edith and Haydon who took home a repaired standard lamp.
Our most moving story is the little wooden camel from a nativity scene. Each year recently, she has tried to gift the Christ Child with her broken head by dropping it off into the crib. Our repairer has attempted to clean it off and reglue it but if this fails the joint will be dowelled next time and hopefully this will do the trick.
The owner of the ‘snowperson’ who is meant to raise its hat, has been given the link to buy a new motor. So she will return next month to have everything reassembled. If it works, we will catch it on video for you!
The Repair Cafe runs on the first Monday of each month at St John’s Church, St John’s Hill, Woodbridge, from 10.00 – midday.
Next one – Monday Feb 3rd – make a note in your new diary now!
