DESCRIPTION:Community workshops: enabling citizen science biodiversity monitoring. \nFree workshop to build a bat detector. \nKit funded by East Suffolk Council Community Fund. All ages welcome\, children must be supervised by their own parents. Led by staff and students from the University of Suffolk. \nBuild your own bat microphone: 384Hz ultrasonic device for bat call listening and recording. Beginner-friendly hotplate soldering. Connects to your smartphone for real time bat audio. \nCitizen Science in Action: hear and record bats on walks\, in the park\, in gardens or on formal surveys. Citizen science initiative supporting knowledge through community-build ultrasonic microphones for biodiversity monitoring\, empowering residents to track biodiversity and bat populations in East Suffolk. \nLed by Dr Hannah Steventon and Dr Mark Bowler. \nFind out more and book tickets.
