Talk: Sirens and Citizen Science

Workshop showcasing the activities of the Deben Climate Centre River quality monitoring team.

The focus of this talk will be to use the River Deben as an example of where volunteers backed by scientific expertise are bringing new insights to bear on the state of our natural environment. We will look not just at the alarming results of the pollution coming from waste water and from human activity but also at how to establish a credible volunteer network to monitor the state of our rivers and estuaries and press for improvements in their quality.
