Build Your Own Bat Detector Workshop

Community workshops: enabling citizen science biodiversity monitoring.
Free workshop to build a bat detector.
Kit funded by East Suffolk Council Community Fund. All ages welcome, children must be supervised by their own parents. Led by staff and students from the University of Suffolk.
Build your own bat microphone: 384Hz ultrasonic device for bat call listening and recording. Beginner-friendly hotplate soldering. Connects to your smartphone for real time bat audio.
Citizen Science in Action: hear and record bats on walks, in the park, in gardens or on formal surveys. Citizen science initiative supporting knowledge through community-build ultrasonic microphones for biodiversity monitoring, empowering residents to track biodiversity and bat populations in East Suffolk.
