Beachwatch: Bawdsey Point
Join this beach clean to help us stop harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.
At a Beachwatch event volunteers clean and survey 100m of beach. The information is then sent to the Marine Conservation Society who collate and analyse the data, helping them to act in an effective, evidence-led way, to tackle the worst marine pollution offenders and lobby for changes in legislation. This has already led to positive legislative change with recent restrictions on the manufacture, sale and use of various single-use plastic items having been implemented in recent years.
We will be collecting and surveying on the beach at Bawdsey Point, IP12 3AX. If anyone wishes to stay on we’ll have lunch 12:30 to 13:00 and do an optional wider clean of the beach if needed from 13:00pm.
Lunch is not provided – you will need to bring your own packed lunch/drinks or use local facilities.
