Bat Survey Results Debrief
March 28 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeFirst of all a huge thank you again for taking part in our bat survey between May and September 2023.
Mark Bowler from the University of Suffolk will be presenting the debrief of last year’s results on Thursday 28th March, 7pm at Woodbridge Community Hall to which you are warmly invited,
The results so far look really good with all the same species recorded as in 2022. Everyone in Woodbridge and Melton has common and soprano pipistrelles and most have more species than these. The results emphasize again the importance of woody areas such as Martlesham Creek, Porters Wood, Melton Woods, Wilford Bridge lakes for potential roosts.
There are far fewer bat numbers though than 30 years ago so we do have to redouble our efforts to encourage bats here by planting trees and shrubs, keeping grass longer and having patches of scrub, and especially by installing a pond! Join up with your neighbours and sign up through our website https://
Hope to see you on 28th March
