Starting with soft fruit – namely raspberries and loganberry from Newbourne this morning.
Our volunteers go along and pick surplus fruit from people’s gardens, smallholdings and orchards in the area. This ranges from soft fruit, grapes as well as apples, plums, pears. We distribute these to local lunch clubs as well as foodbanks such as the Salvation Army, FIND. The fruit gets passed on to eat or made into meals/jams for the community. This mornings harvest is being dropped round to the community cafe in Trimley St Mary.

We have a What’s App group of pickers so we can organise picks very quickly at times to suit the majority available.

If you would like to help with the picking or distributing (FIND produce gets taken into Ipswich), please get in touch. You may like to help but prefer not to join the Whats App group which is fine too.

If you do want to volunteer – (and we can guarantee fun and laughter!) you can email us at hello@transitionwoodbridge.org.uk.
