Beresford Drive Tidy-Up

JOB DONE!
This afternoon we finished the work on the espalier apple and pear trees we planted behind the play area on Beresford Drive in 2015.
It has taken two sessions to clear the weeds, prune the trees into shape and rub off the surplus fruit.
Thanks to everyone who joined in in such hot weather, and thanks to the wonderful people who keep them watered every week.💓💓💓
Children, thanks for keeping an eye on the trees as you promised you would when we planted them.
The fruit is there for you to enjoy but please, please, wait til it’s ripe!
The Lady Hanneker at the far end is a cooking apple and won’t ever taste good until its cooked! 😝
