BBC’s Countryfile aired an episode from Suffolk at 7pm on August 23 (BBC1).
The programme visited Somerleyton Hall and Carlton Marshes. Hugh Somerleyton is one of a group of landowners who are rewilding part of their land, about 20pc, and ‘challenging everybody to devote 20pc of whatever we have to nature projects …farmers, industrial estates, supermarkets, housing estates, churchyards, allotments, schools or individuals ‘ in our own back gardens to create WildEast. This links so well with our Wildlife Corridors project and Woodbridge Town Council’s Green Veining in the towns Open Spaces.’
If you missed it do watch it on BBC iPlayer here. And see the success of Suffolk Wildlife Trust at Carlton Marshes too.
