We managed to weed and mulch all the 9 fruit trees at Jubilee Green this afternoon, plus 4 in Hall Farm Road, Melton. We also mulched 6 in St Andrews Place!! We weeded and mulched round some woodland trees at Jubilee Green.
Our hard working team today consisted of Guy, Sally, Richard, Carol, Stephen, Jane, Mary, David, Jackie and Nonie, who was missing from the picture as she took it! Also missing were Ethna, and Deb and John who were over at St Andrews Place at the time of taking!!
Well done team, we are sure the trees are very grateful to you for caring for them so well! We have a low rate of failure with the trees in our scattered orchard because so many people put such a lot of effort into caring for them. It is very much appreciated.

Peterhouse Crescent today was badly in need of weeding and mulching. As ever, some of our fabulous volunteers, Jackie, Jackie, Carol, Deb, Jane and Naraya turned out to help solve the problem! Spotted a few ladybirds🐞 🐞around as did Jane, Deb and Isla at Queens Avenue at the weekend. Jill, Nick, Deb, Jane, and Jackie tucked up the new plums and hawthorns at Colletts Walk for the winter πŸͺ±πŸͺ±πŸŒ³πŸŒ³πŸ˜Š

A crowd of us turned out to weed and mulch at Melton Riverside yesterday, where we’ve planted 15 fruit trees … the first pears way back in 2015!! We make sure that we care for the trees once planted to get them off to the best start in their lives🌳πŸͺ±πŸŒ³πŸπŸπŸ¦‹
